How to Get Your Business Mentioned by ChatGPT

Guide · 6 min read

There's no "submit to ChatGPT" button. AI assistants pick businesses from what they can find and understand online. Here's what actually moves the needle — most of these need no developer.

1. Add schema markup to your website

This is the single highest-impact step. Schema markup is a small block of code that tells machines your business name, address, hours and services. Our free Schema Generator writes it for you in 2 minutes.

2. Get (and show) Google reviews

Ask every happy customer for a Google review. Then display your rating on your homepage. AI assistants treat visible reviews as strong proof you're real and good.

3. Write an FAQ page

AI assistants answer questions — so give them questions to quote. Write 5–10 real questions customers ask, with honest answers. Our free FAQ Generator drafts them for your business type.

4. Make your homepage say what you do — plainly

"Welcome to excellence" tells AI nothing. "Family dental clinic in Austin — checkups, braces, whitening" tells it everything. Rewrite your headline in plain words.

5. Put contact details everywhere

Phone number and address in your footer, on every page, as real text (not inside images). AI can't recommend a business it can't contact.

6. Keep your site fresh

Publish something new at least monthly — a tip, an update, a short post. Sites untouched for years look abandoned to AI.

7. Claim your business listings

Make sure your business is claimed and accurate on Google Business Profile and major directories. Consistent name, address and phone everywhere.

How long does it take?

Honest answer: weeks to months, not days. AI assistants refresh their knowledge over time. Do the work now, then check your progress monthly with the free grader.
